This course will help you to learn about support mechanisms which can help an employee return to work following a period of absence, as well of gaining an overview of the distinctions between sickness and disability, and how these should be applied in the workplace.

 

  • Understand the impact of sickness absence on your organisation
  • Greater awareness of the legislation which applies to disabled people
  • Learn about the distinction between "sickness" and "disability" and gain an understanding of the different management approaches required
  • Be confident in interviewing returning employees and appreciate the importance of recording reasons for absence / asking searching questions
  • Be able to identify practical solutions to a range of Sickness Absence related issues
  • Recognise the importance of the Employee's GP and Occupational Advisors in the process
  • Understanding what steps you can take to protect and improve the health and well being of your workforce
